Let Love Lead - TB Joushua

Shobizz Blog- TB Joshua

LET LOVE LEAD
Let us meditate on this foundational teaching on love, preached on Sunday 31st July 2011, by T.B. Joshua in The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, HQ, Lagos, Nigeria
1 Corinthians 13:13 – “There are only three things on this earth that will last: faith, hope and love. The greatest is love.”
1 John 4:16 – “God is love and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

Let Love Lead
  • Love looks around to see who is in need.
  • We begin to succeed with our lives when the problems and hurts of others matter to us.
  • The wound of one is the wound of all; the pain of others is the pain of all.
  • Love frees me in the present. It is the present that presents problems.
  • It is only through love that we are able to respond to God and to others at present.
  • To respond to God, first you must forgive yourself and your neighbours, and free them in the present.
  • What a danger is a religion of words if there is no corresponding action; you have nothing but mental assent without action.
  • If you give everything you own to the poor but you do not love, no matter what you say, no matter what you believe, no matter what you do, you are bankrupt without love.
  • If you abide in love and love abides in you, you abide in God.
  • Love never gives up. Love is always there to act, no matter what happens, no matter what comes.
  • Love is always there to act in the face of persecution, intimidation, trial and temptation.
  • Open your lips and say this prayer: “Lord, give me love enough to overlook the mistakes of others. Lord, let me rejoice when others do well.”
  • Love cares more for others than for self.
    • Love does not want what it does not have.
    • Love is positive; it does not want anything negative.
    • Love is good; it does not want anything bad.
    • Love does not want hatred because love is love.
    • Love does not strut. Love does not have a swollen head.
    • Love stoops. Love does not belittle anyone. Love does not look down on others.
    • Love does not force itself on others.
    • Love puts up with anything. Love is tolerant. Love is determined.
    • Love perseveres for the best, which is yet to come.
    • Love looks for the best.
  • Love keeps going to the end, no matter the obstacle, no matter the difficulty.
  • Above all, if I speak in the tongues of angels but I do not love others, I am simply making a noise, talking to the air.
  • If I can prophesy the future and understand your mysteries, or if I know everything or have faith to move mountains, but I do not love others, I have accomplished nothing in life.
  • A person who does not love others cannot be entrusted with the power of God. He will misappropriate it and misuse it to hurt himself and others.
  • When you have the love of God, you will look around you to see who is in need.
  • The best investment is help; help is the best investment.

Obasanjo’s letters

THE House of Representatives, yesterday, described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letters to the leadership of the National Assembly, accusing the lawmakers of greed, graft and insensitivity to the declining state of the country’s economy, as misdirected, saying they would not be distracted from performing their constitutional duties.
Speaking at the National Assembly weekly briefing, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazak Namdas, said the National Assembly will not be distracted by , which also accused the legislature of insincerity over its planned purchase of 469 cars worth N4.7 billion.
Namdas stated that the lawmakers have tremendous respect for Obasanjo, adding, however, that the former president’s letters might not have been meant for the 8th Assembly but rather the 4th or 5th Assemblies.
“We have tremendous respect for the former President. We don’t want to be distracted by letters. Probably the letter is not meant for the 8th Assembly because we have cued in with President Muhammadu Buhari. I think the letter is meant for the 4th or 5th Assemblies. It was misdirected, “he said.

Commenting on the alleged sharing of N50m and 150 motorcycles to all members by the House Leadership, Namdas said the matter would be investigated and appropriate actions taken.
Obasanjo introduced bribery to NASS—Melaye
Speaking on the issue in an interview with The Cable, Senator Dino Melaye, APC, Kogi West, described Obasanjo’s letters as misplaced anger and accused him of introducing corruption into the National Assembly while pursuing a third term ambition.
His words: “I have tremendous respect for President Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo. Elder statesman, respected pan-Africanist and committed patriot. The letter I can see is a misplacement of anger. Our leader is mistaking the Eighth National Assembly as the same Senate assembly that defrauded him in 2007.
“Those who collected his money and refused to implement the third term agenda. I appeal to Baba that we are not the ones please. After nine years of that bribery saga, the first of its kind, I expect forgiveness to have taken place.
“There was the case of bribery introduced by the Obasanjo regime in the desperate attempt to remove Speaker Ghali Umar Na’Abba from office then. In fact, there was open display of that bribery money on the floor of the House. That government exposed the National Assembly to corruption and easy money. I hope this is not an attempt to cover up and distract attention from the Halliburton and Siemens corruption allegations.
“While I am against corruption anywhere in Nigeria, I will not support accusations based on anger and vindictiveness. The Eighth Senate should also look inwardly and purge herself of all the deliberate misgivings of the past. Nigeria must work and we must support the anti- corruption stance of the Buhari administration.”
Asked to speak on the allegation, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Leo Ogor, yesterday said:  “First, I will not want to join issues with former President Olusegun Obasanjo. I believe that he has his freedom of opinion which clearly is enshrined in the constitution. I am not going to go into any level of altercation with him, but he should realise that these vehicles are meant purely for oversight functions.
“If he believes we should not carry out oversight functions or probably we should rely on ministries and agencies of government even when travelling outside the states to carry out these responsibilities, he is at will to say whatever he wants to say.”
“But I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that these vehicles are not luxury vehicles, they are utility vehicles at the National Assembly, we use in carrying out our responsibilities. Like I said, I am not going to join issues with him, we are here as lawmakers in this country to carry out our responsibilities.”

Messi made a joke out of Gerard Pique

Lionel Messi showed he has a sense of humour as he made a joke out of Gerard Pique after the Barcelona defender was named the Catalan Sportsman of 2015.

Shobizz Blog - Gerard Pique

Pique, who attended the Catalan Sports Federation's gala with his partner, Shakira, seemed unusually nervous when he collected his award on the stage.
After briefly losing his voice, the 28-year-old repeatedly began to bang his hand on his leg, before rubbing it as he tried to regather his composure.
Watching on television at home, Messi picked up on his team-mate’s jitters and posted a video of the incident on his Instagram account.
Alongside the video, he wrote: “How is the quadricep, Geri??? I hope it’s OK!!! Congratulations for the prize.”
Of course, the Argentina international accompanied his post with several laughing emojis.
Presumably Pique, who’s known as one of the pranksters in the Barcelona dressing room, will already be plotting a way to get his own back.
